People visiting the Albany Bulb may not know that Berkeley Animal Services provide the animal control and care functions for the cities of Albany, Emeryville and Piedmont as well as Berkeley, so we really do need support from residents of those cities too! Every time a stray dog is found at the Albany Bulb it goes to Berkeley Animal Shelter, so this particular animal shelter is important to us who care about this place. And over the last few years the shelter has been much more responsive to the needs of homeless people, making sure wherever possible that they get their animals back if they are impounded for any reason.
